Customer Highlights
Royal Air Force
Challenge
As a result of an urgent operational requirement to procure and modify a strategic intelligence asset, the Royal Air Force needed a rapid Training Needs Analysis (TNA) tool to conduct and identify the specific training and development needs of personnel from multiple trade groups including, Pilots, Engineers and Armourers.
Solution
To conduct the Training Needs Analyses (TNAs), Agilexe utilised its shadow software and processes to enable an effective analysis of a range of RAF and civil aviation data and subject matter expert inputs. shadow enabled the rapid and concurrent development of multiple TNAs entirely aligned to the RAF capability requirements. Further economies of effort were achieved through the use of artificial intelligence support to identify trends and patterns in the data that may not have been immediately apparent and, as a result, this reduced the overall analysis effort by 75%.
Impact
The TNAs delivered a comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation of the resources and capabilities necessary to meet the military’s operational needs. Additionally, they identified common training requirements that could potentially achieve over a 35% reduction in future training development and delivery costs and effort.

Nuclear sector
Challenge
Agilexe's strategic workforce study for the UK nuclear industry was specifically designed to address the challenge of attracting and retaining skilled workers. Recognising this as an escalating issue over the coming decades, our client sought a long-term, strategic solution that could leverage emerging technologies to provide deeper insights and proactive workforce planning.
Solution
Our team at Agilexe conducted a comprehensive analysis using advanced data manipulation techniques supported by proof of concept AI-driven tools to examine the data on the skills required by the nuclear industry and the UK education sector. By utilising these tools, we identified trends and patterns that might not have been apparent through traditional analysis. We also collaborated with industry experts to validate the AI-generated insights, ensuring a robust understanding of the current and future workforce needs in the nuclear sector.
Impact
Through AI-powered data analysis and expert consultation, we were able to pinpoint the specific skills nuclear industry workers will require in the coming decade. Our AI models also projected how these skills align with the evolving UK education sector, anticipating future challenges. These AI-driven insights allowed us to forecast potential skill gaps and recommend strategies to ensure a resilient and well-prepared workforce.
The analysis provided our client with actionable intelligence, helping them make informed decisions and develop adaptive strategies for workforce sustainability. This approach ensured that the next generation of skilled workers is ready to meet the industry's demands, fostering resilience in an uncertain future.

British Army
Challenge
The British Army identified that multiple training analysis and design activities had failed to accurately capture training requirements for high hazard/safety critical roles. This escalated the training risk to unsustainable levels within the organisation and there was insufficient resources to mitigate the shortfalls within the confines of the DSAT process and/or the organisational knowledge of DSAT.
Solution
To address the British Army’s challenge, Agilexe deployed its shadow and schema applications for use by MOD personnel to streamline and enhance the training analysis and design processes.
Using shadow's AI-driven analysis, analysts were able to identify precise training requirements by combining existing data with varied sources, such as extant Role Performance Statements and technical documentation, while integrating feedback from subject matter experts.
Schema further supported the solution by enabling MOD designers to create comprehensive training documentation, ensuring that all required training outputs were captured and aligned with the requirements of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) framework, up to and including the creation of lesson specifications and lesson plans.
Impact
The implementation of Agilexe’s AI-enabled tools resulted in a significant reduction of training risk, reducing it to manageable levels within the organisation. The British Army was able to address critical training shortfalls quickly and effectively, ensuring that personnel in high-hazard roles were adequately prepared.
This solution not only improved compliance with DSAT but also saved considerable time and resources by reducing analysis and design effort by over 95%. The streamlined, shadow and schema enabled process enabled the organisation to achieve full sign off and endorsement of all the developed products within 14 days.
Defence Academy
Challenge
With increased restrictions on the recruitment and availability of training analysts, designers and subject matter experts, our client was unable to iterate and update their training courses and maintain pace with changes to doctrine, policies and process.
Solution
Agilexe deployed shadow with enhanced retrieval augmented generation capability provided by sift. This allowed the fast and accurate examination of the client's own data to provide enhanced training needs analysis outputs fully aligned to unit, establishment and organisational policies and procedures.
Impact
By using sift enabled shadow, the client was able to revitalise a training catalogue of over 14 course in a period of 3 months, prior to the start of the new academic term. The deployment accelerated the timeframe at which learning needs were accurately met and all training documentation evidenced a clear connection to the latest versions of doctrine and policy and ultimately ensured that training delivered to learners was correct, up to date, and fully met the requirements of their role.
